I don’t love yoga. I don’t mind it, but I don’t think I’m ever going to pay money for a class. But right now, I am super grateful for yoga.
Work has been really stressful for the past week and a half, and the salesmen are driving me bonkers. But every lunch hour, I swap my dress pants for yoga pants, and do 20 minutes or so of soothing, calming, focused stretching.
I usually go up to the lunch room feeling very high-strung and maybe just a teeeny tiny bit mean, but I always come down with a smile and better attitude.
I think this little bit of daily bliss is what has kept me sane for the last little while, so I thought I would share my at-work me time.
I usually just sit and breathe and chill out for a second, trying to let the stress from the day melt away.
I start with Warrior 1
and Warrior 3 on both sides.
Next up is Extended Side Angle.
And the Triangle (one of my favourite poses).
Then I do a plank to wake up my abs, holding for 10 breaths.
Side planks too.
And the Cobra, another favourite pose.
Downward Dog too.
Then into the Pigeon on both sides. I find this one is an awesome stress releaser.

The Plow. This is an awesome pose for when I’ve been overstretching my back. I love/hate it.
And Spinal Twist. Aaaahhhhhh.
(That’s a relieved ‘aaahhh’. Not a screaming in pain ‘aahhh’.)
And that’s it!
Holding each pose for 5 or 6 breaths leaves me chilled out and more stretchy in about 20 minutes.
It’s a great midday pick-me-up.
